My Background

I received my first passport at 6 months and been traveling ever since. I enjoy travel writing and often review books for International Travel News.

Publications include articles on El Salvador, South India, Bolivia, Travel Tips and some pieces on specific travel companies; and there are several in the works on India, The Trans-Siberian Express, Peru's Amazon and Elephant Programs in Thailand.

I have authored four books and numerous articles in my profession, of which I am now retired - librarianship and history

Seeking new challenges, I recently trained as a mahout (elephant driver) in Northern Thailand and have returned to help with rescued and homeless elephants.

I have been speaking to groups in the Chicago area since the 1980's on various travel topics and enjoy encouraging people to visit developing countries.
